NeuroSenseBehaviour Preschool Autism School Admission Policies
Mission Statement
NeuroSenseBehaviour Preschool Autism School is dedicated to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and individualised learning environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our goal is to foster the growth and development of each child, helping them reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
1. Eligibility Criteria
Age Requirements:
- Children must be between the ages of 2.5 to 12 years old at the time of admission.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD):
- Children must have a diagnosed autism spectrum disorder by a licensed medical professional or clinical psychologist. This includes children who have been diagnosed with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, or other related developmental disorders.
- A copy of the official diagnosis will be required during the admission process.
Developmental Level:
- While the primary focus is on children with ASD and other neurodiversity, our program may also accommodate children with developmental delays or other related disorders when appropriate.
Language Skills:
- Children do not need to have advanced verbal communication skills to be admitted. We support children at various levels of communication, including those with nonverbal or limited speech abilities, using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools if needed.
2. Admission Process
Step 1: Initial Inquiry
- Families interested in enrolling their child must first contact the school to schedule a tour or consultation.
- A brochure or introductory materials will be provided to ensure families understand the program’s approach and services.
Step 2: Application Submission
- Complete an application form which includes the following:
- Personal and medical information
- A copy of the child’s autism diagnosis or relevant medical documentation
- Recent evaluations (e.g., speech therapy reports, occupational therapy assessments, behavioural assessments)
Step 3: Initial Meeting/Assessment
- After receiving the application, the family will meet with our admissions team, including specialists such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behaviour specialists, to discuss the child’s needs.
- If needed, we may request a more comprehensive assessment to help determine if the child’s needs align with the resources and services we provide.
Step 4: Enrollment Decision
- After the assessment, the school will notify the family whether their child has been accepted into the program. If accepted, families will receive an enrollment packet that includes tuition information, program details, and a schedule.
- If the child is not a good fit for the program, we will recommend alternative resources or schools better suited to their needs.
3. Program Placement
- Individualised Support Plans: Each child will receive a tailored educational plan designed in collaboration with their family, therapists, and teachers. This plan will address the child’s individual strengths and areas for growth.
- Classroom Environment: Our classrooms are designed to support a low student-to-teacher ratio, ensuring each child receives the necessary attention and resources. Classrooms may also be grouped based on developmental level and needs.
4. Tuition and Fees
School fees and other charges shall be paid every month in advance by the 6th of each month. After DUEDATE expires, the therapy fee will be deposited with the late fee fine of Rs100/-, which will be charged daily.
- Tuition Fees: If the school is open and your child is absent for any reason, the full tuition fee will still apply. Our tuition fees cover the operational costs of maintaining the quality of education, regardless of student attendance.
- Weekend Breaks: Please note that Saturdays and Sundays are designated school holidays, and no tuition fees will be charged for these days.
- School Closures Due to Security Concerns: If the school is closed due to safety or security concerns, please be aware that tuition fees will still be due for the period of closure. These circumstances are outside of our control but do not affect our commitment to the educational program.
- Tuition Rates: The enrollment packet will provide Detailed tuition fees. Tuition may vary based on the child’s specific needs, session lengths, and support requirements.
- Payment Plans: Families may opt for monthly, quarterly, or annual payment plans, with payments due at the beginning of each term.
- Financial Aid/Scholarships: Based on family income and need, a limited number of financial aid opportunities may be available. Please inquire for more information.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.
5. Parent and Family Involvement
- Family Orientation: All families must attend an orientation session before the child’s first school day. This session will introduce families to our policies, procedures, and expectations and provide an opportunity to meet staff members.
- Ongoing Communication: Regular communication between families and staff is essential for the child’s progress. Parents will receive updates on their child’s development through:
- Weekly or bi-weekly progress reports
- Regular meetings with teachers and specialists to review the child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Parent Support: We offer parent training sessions, workshops, and community events to help families navigate autism-related challenges.
6. Health and Safety Requirements
- Medical Records: Families must submit up-to-date medical records and emergency contact information. This includes any allergies, medications, or other medical conditions that staff should know.
- Immunisations: All children must be updated on their immunisations unless otherwise exempt due to medical reasons.
- Emergency Protocols: A comprehensive emergency plan, including evacuation procedures and safety drills, will be communicated to all families during orientation.
7. Withdrawal and Disenrollment
- Voluntary Withdrawal: Families wishing to withdraw their child from the program must notify the school at least 30 days before. Any tuition paid for that term will be prorated.
- Disenrollment for Behavioral or Safety Reasons: The school reserves the right to disenroll a child if their behaviours or needs exceed the resources available or if there is a safety concern for the child or others. We will work with the family to find appropriate alternatives if needed.
- Non-Payment of Fees: Children may be disenrolled for non-payment of tuition unless a payment plan has been established.
8. Non-Discrimination Policy
NeuroSenseBehaviour Preschool Autism School admits students of any race, colour, national or ethnic origin, religion, or gender to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate based on race, colour, national or ethnic origin, or disability in the administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, or other school-administered programs.
9. Modifications to Admission Policies
